This course is for art therapists, psychotherapists, clinical psychologists, educators, counsellors, and others who wish work with nature in their practice. The one-day workshop will introduce the ideas and practice of working therapeutically in nature using the cycle of Nature to attune to the turning year. It will consist of experiential exercises and reflective time to deepen knowledge and skills in this area of health and wellbeing practice. Individual image making and play will be explored within this beautiful woodland setting, as well as the opportunity to share and learn from the group.

Working entirely within the woodland, with the use of tipi tent we plan to introduce participants to the themes and metaphors associated with the month of October & November, which within the Celtic tradition is the end of the year. We will look at ways in which nature and natural cycles can be integrated within the therapeutic relationship, including within the consulting room. Readings, teachings and guidance offered by Vanessa and Gary is informed by the practice of environmental arts therapy and will provide a rich foundation for onward study, training and self-development

No previous training in the arts, art therapies or ecotherapy is necessary but a willingness to be curious about your own interconnection with the land and all her relations is encouraged.
